SPANISH MASTERS

For 21 years, Spain produced a series of stamps on its Painting Masters right from
Renaissance to Modern times. Beginning with 1958, a set of 10 stamps was produced every
year showcasing the most famous works of one Spanish Master. With an inexplicable gap in
the year 1967, this pattern continued till 1970. During these years, 12 Spanish Masters were
selected for their paintings representing Romanticism, Rococo, Baroque, Impressionism,
Realism, Symbolism, Orientalism, Neo Classicalism, Gothic and other styles. From 1971 to
1979, another series started that produced sets of 8 stamps every year on some Spanish
Master or another. In total, almost 200 stamps featuring classic paintings of Spain were
produced. Here we present Complete Sets of the Spanish Masters.
